News broke just hours ago that Presley Gerber tragically passed away at the age of 27.
If you don’t know, Presley was only 27 years old. He was the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. He was also brother to actress and model, Kaia Gerber, who you may recognize from her work in The Shards.
New details about his passing are now being disclosed.
Police were called to the scene for “cardiac arrest”
Audio from dispatch calls apparently mentioned both cardiac arrest, as well as a suspected overdose when called to the scene of Presley Gerber‘s death (via People).
Police are investigating Presley Gerber’s death as a suspected overdose
“On September 20, 2026, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Santa Monica Police Department officers responded to a report of a possible overdose. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified the individual as Presley Gerber, 27,” they confirmed in a statement to E! News.
They confirmed that “detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.”
This corroborates reporting from earlier in the day that suggested he died from a suspected overdose.
Presley Gerber’s autopsy has been completed
It has also been confirmed that his autopsy has officially been completed.
People reports that his cause of death has been listed as “deferred” at this time.
