Tom Segura is speaking out for the first time following news of his divorce from Christina P (Christina Pazsitzky).
If you didn’t see the news, it was reported last month that the comedy couple and podcast co-hosts are separating after 19 years of marriage. They share two sons: Ellis, born in 2016, and Julian, born in 2018.
During the Wednesday (August 12) episode of their joint podcast Your Mom’s House, Tom, 47, shared his first public comments about the split, calling it a “horrible experience.”
He went on to say that the “awful” breakup was “emotionally, a rollercoaster,” and happened “many months” ago.
“Having it be public is awful,” Tom said. “We wanted it to be private; that’s how we were handling everything. And the day you get a phone call from your publicist going, ‘Hey, TMZ’s gotten wind of this, and they’re going to run a story,’ you’re like, ‘What?’”
“Your emotions change many times a day,” he added. “You don’t feel the same all the time. It’s really tough on you.”
Tom then defended his decision to not join Christina, 50, on the podcast last week where she broke down in tears while discussing their split.
He admitted that he has been “bothered” by comments from listeners who bashed his absence, reminding them that he and Christina have “recording episodes separately for a long time” and since “her episode was first, she addressed it first.”
