Supriya Ganesh is not returning for The Pitt season three and the show’s creator is opening up about where Dr. Mohan will be in the next season.
The next season will take place about four months after the events in the season two finale, so fans have noted that Dr. Mohan’s residency will not have ended yet.
With Supriya‘s exit noted to be a creative decision, fans have questioned how it makes sense for Mohan to be absent from the next season.

Series creator R. Scott Gemmill told TVLine, “Due to the nature of a teaching hospital, a lot of people move on. That’s part of the fabric of the show. One of the reasons we did a four-month jump was so we didn’t have to move everyone out. We love these actors, we love writing for them, and the audience enjoys them, so it’s bittersweet when we have to see someone leave, but it’s part of the process. She struggled a little bit, and that’s part of the reality of medicine — some people do better than others. She’s very good at connecting with patients, but she doesn’t move as quickly as is expected these days in the ER.”
Gemmill confirmed that Mohan is just going to be off for the day.
“Yeah, she’s just not working that day,” he added.
Supriya just broke her silence on leaving the show and her hopes for Mohan’s future.
