A new renovation series is coming to HGTV!
This week, the network announced Botched Homes with general contractor and master craftsman Charlie Kawas.
In the new show, Charlie will “rescue South Florida homeowners from some of the region’s most disastrous renovation projects.”
Here’s the full synopsis: Driven by a passion for helping families reclaim homes that have become unsafe, unlivable or left unfinished, Charlie takes on one jaw-dropping renovation disaster after another. Alongside expert designer Courtney Ibars and his five-star crew, he transforms homes plagued by shoddy workmanship, dangerous conditions and dysfunctional layouts into safe, beautiful and functional spaces.”
“Every home tells a story, and unfortunately many of these families were left with unfinished projects, unsafe conditions and broken trust after hiring the wrong contractor. Our job is to restore more than just the house. We want to give homeowners peace of mind by doing the work the right way and creating a home they can finally feel proud of.” – Charlie Kawas
In the series premiere, “Charlie and his team will overhaul a DIY kitchen with no running hot water, exposed electrical wiring held together by a stuffed snake and other bizarre designs. Later, Charlie and Courtney will transform a hideous and hazardous black-and-white checkerboard bathroom with no mirrors or storage into a functional space that better meets the homeowner’s needs. Throughout the season, the team will work on a mold-infested home with no front door and overrun by rats, a fishhook-shaped bathroom and a bedroom frozen in the 1980s.”
Botched Homes will premiere Wednesday, September 2, at 10 om ET/PT on HGTV, with new episodes premiering the next day on HBO Max.
