Zoe Kazan is speaking out about the viewing experience of her new series East of Eden.

The 43-year-old actress is the writer, co-showrunner and executive producer of the new Netflix series adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel of the same name.

At a recent screening of the new series, which recently dropped on the streamer, Zoe urged the audience NOT to watch the rest of the show on their phones, or their watch.

“I know that we made this for the small screen, but please, please, please dear god, when you go home do not watch the rest of this on your phone, or on your Apple Watch,” Zoe told the crowd.

“Please, please, even if you don’t have a TV or a laptop, go to a friend’s house who has a TV or laptop. We did not make this for a tiny screen,” she continued. “Please, please, we did not test this for second screen viewing. This is not a thing that you’re going to love if you’re also looking at your phone while you watch this.”

East of Eden topped Netflix’s Top 10 English Language TV list with 6.5 million views in its first few days.

If you missed it, Zoe is also working on another new TV series adaptation for Netflix!
