Chet Hanks confronted comedian Eric André at a Los Angeles convention over the weekend.
In new footage obtained by TMZ, Chet, who is the son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, can be seen approaching the comedian from behind at ComplexCon and grabbing him by the shoulder.
Eric initially looked like he was pleased to see Chet until the Running Point star started to call him out and Eric looked confused about the whole scenario. Eventually his security stepped in and The Eric Andre Show host walked away.
Later, Chet took to Instagram to tell his side of the story in the caption, saying Eric apparently had “no memory whatsoever” of trashing him in the media. As the fight between the two went back to his appearance on The Eric Andrew Show when Eric later claimed his behavior on the show was “dangerous” and “emotionally disturbed.”
At the time, Chet responded to Eric on his Instagram Story and said, “Had no idea you were such a ****.”
In his Instagram comment, Chet said he ran into Eric “who apparently travels to ComplexCon with 4 security guards (because the environment makes him uneasy) and who had NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his show!! Until after being sheltered by his security team, began foaming at the mouth and admitted it was because he had a problem with me ‘mocking Caribbean culture” when I did my Jamaican accent all those years ago. WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist!!! Great running into you Eric!!!!!”
Last month, Chet’s mom and Tom’s wife Rita Wilson debuted a giant tattoo on her back that matches Chet’s.
