It’s been an emotional year for the Affleck family.
Months after it was revealed that Casey and Ben Affleck‘s mother Chris Anne died in June, Casey, 51, has now revealed that their father Tim Affleck also passed away earlier this year.
Casey made the sad revelation during the press conference for his new movie Company at the 2026 Venice Film Festival on Tuesday (September 8).
“It’s dedicated to my parents because I lost both my mom and my dad this year, and they were very important to me,” said Casey, who directed, co-wrote and stars in the new movie (per Page Six).
“I really wanted to show this movie to them, and I didn’t get to,” he continued. “I think they would have liked it.”
It’s unclear when Tim died, as Casey didn’t share any other details about his father’s passing.
News of Tim’s passing comes after it was revealed earlier this summer that Casey and the 54-year-old Gone Girl actor’s mother died at the age of 83 on June 2, 2026. Her death certificate revealed that Chris Anne passed away while “visiting” at Ben‘s home.
Chris Anne died from cardiopulmonary arrest and a contributing factor was pancreatic cancer, which she had been battling for several months.
She was given six months to live after being diagnosed in December 2025. Her obituary noted that Chris Anne‘s “greatest wish after her diagnosis, however, was to live to see her grandson graduate high school. She did so, attending with her family on May 31, 2026. She died peacefully, in her sleep, two days later.”
