Jessica Vosk is speaking out after she was snubbed by the Tony Awards for her performance in the Broadway musical Beaches.
The acclaimed musical theatre actress is currently playing Cee Cee Bloom, the role originated by Bette Midler in the 80s movie, and she received rave reviews for her performance.
Jessica was considered to be on-the-bubble for a Best Actress in a Musical nomination, but she didn’t end up landing the recognition. The show was completely shut out by the Tony Awards with zero nominations.
Lea Michele was also notably snubbed from the Best Actress category. Nominations went to Sara Chase (Schmigadoon!), Stephanie Hsu (Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show), Caissie Levy (Ragtime), Marla Mindelle (Titaníque), and Christiani Pitts (Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York))
Despite not being nominated for a Tony, Jessica did get a Drama League Award nomination for Distinguished Performance and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Musical.

In a video on her TikTok account, Jessica reacted to the snub.
“Happy Tony nomination day. I woke up at 8:00 a.m. without an alarm because [of] the anxiety. And it’s the first time I’ve sat with the possibility of even being nominated for anything Tony-wise, and it was really exciting. And while I wish I could also be up there with all those incredible ladies, it’s been incredible to watch them all season and even be a part of the conversation.
So, onward. I’m going to get a bagel because I believe I deserve carbohydrates, and maybe a manicure and a massage, and then we’re going to do a show tonight because that’s what we do. Congratulations to everybody. This is like, it’s the Super Bowl, babe.”
