Carly Rae Jepsen is back with a brand new track.
The 40-year-old “Run Away With Me” pop superstar just dropped her new song “After All,” along with an accompanying music video that finds her showing off her baby bump. (She since welcomed her first child with her husband, Cole M.G.N., in early March.)
The song, co-penned with longtime collaborators Kyle Shearer and Nate Cyphert, is described in an official release as a “glistening celebration of love, penned as she contemplated how motherhood impacts one’s identity, choices and perceptions.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Aerin Moreno and features Carly “reveling in the gently filtered daylight of a room as she surveys the reminders of the previous night’s joyous dinner party. As the piano amps up, images from celebrations across the decades flicker across the screen with the intensity of a fireworks display.”
“After All” is part of the “day” section of her upcoming 24-track Day and Night, described as a double album that “captures a blurred, dreamlike sense of time where nights stretch into mornings and days dissolve into nights, creating a feeling of being suspended inside a moment.”
The record, which also includes the lead single “On Wires,” is set to be released on September 18, and can be pre-ordered in various formats right now.
