Elizabeth Holmes is giving viewers a much closer look at her life before prison in the new trailer for You Can See Everything.
A24 released the official full-length trailer for the upcoming documentary on Wednesday (September 23), following the movie’s surprise premiere at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this month.
The documentary comes from Nathan Fielder and director Lance Oppenheim, and features the real-life Theranos founder in the weeks leading up to the start of her prison sentence.
What Happens in the You Can See Everything Trailer?
According to the movie’s official synopsis, Elizabeth invited a skeptical film crew to document her life 34 days before she was sent to prison. What began as an intimate portrait ultimately became a three-year project.
The new trailer shows Nathan spending time with Elizabeth and her partner, Billy Evans, as he attempts to understand his subject.
At one point, Nathan questions Elizabeth about whether she’s being genuine, while another scene shows her becoming emotional during a conversation with the filmmaker. The trailer also features Nathan questioning Billy about whether Elizabeth believes she did anything wrong, and asking Billy if his family’s wealth might have had anything to do with their romance.
“Weren’t you worried she was sort of scamming you? Isn’t your family rich?” Nathan asks.
“Yeah, I think there’s like a lot of different levels of wealth,” Billy says.
The project was filmed over several years, including during the period immediately before Elizabeth reported to prison in May 2023.
Elizabeth is currently serving a federal prison sentence after being convicted on fraud charges related to Theranos. The company had claimed its technology could perform numerous medical tests using a small amount of blood.
When Does You Can See Everything Come Out?
You Can See Everything will be released in theaters on October 16. Before that, it will screen at the New York Film Festival on September 30.
