Sources say that the security increase is out of “an abundance of caution,” per THR.

The kidnapping is “understood to have left fellow talent and crews around the NBC weekday mornings show heartbroken, and led to beefed up security measures until Nancy Guthrie is found.”

While other networks have not yet beefed up security, THR reports that “another network echoed a prevailing somber mood among talent and crews…including fears of copy cat actions against TV personalities in the wake of the Guthrie kidnapping.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos and FBI Special Agent in Charge Heith Janke gave a press conference Thursday (February 5) about the missing mom of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.

The 84-year-old grandmother has been missing since this weekend. There have been reports about a ransom note, possible suspects, and more.

We now have more official updates, including confirmation that the blood spatter seen outside her house is from her, confirmation that there are no suspects still, there has been no proof of life, no second contact from the more credible ransom note, and more.
