Jesse Metcalfe is sharing what he remembers about the Desperate Housewives set, including how much of its reported drama passed him by.
The actor addressed the long-running feud rumors in an interview for E!’s The Greatest Year in Pop Culture, explaining that his own experience didn’t involve much of the tension people have discussed since.
According to his chat with E!, Jesse said he was caught up in the success and attention that came with the show, leaving him less aware of what was happening around him.
Earlier this year, Jesse revealed the one cosmetic procedure he’s had done.
“Apparently there was some in-fighting between some of our leading ladies and also some drama between our creator and some of our leading ladies,” he said, adding, “I certainly wasn’t part of that. I wasn’t really aware of it. But I know that it happened.”
He played John Rowland, the gardener who had an affair with Eva Longoria’s Gabrielle Solis. His memories of working with Eva were especially positive.
“I almost feel like I’m a better person around her,” he said. “She has an incredible personality and she makes everyone feel important when they’re around her.”
He’s spoken similarly about being “oblivious” to the drama during a 2025 conversation with People.
