The battle between Dolly Parton‘s nephew, Bryan Seaver, and her manager, Danny Nozell, is getting heated.
The late country music singer’s nephew, who was the chosen family member to announce her death, and his security companies were recently fired from her properties following her death, and he called out her longtime manager for the change.
While he was fired from working on her properties, Bryan‘s personal interest as a beneficiary of her trust still remains.
However, on Tuesday (September 22), it was revealed that Danny filed for a restraining order against Bryan, and some disturbing details were unveiled in court documents.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Danny claims that Bryan started “invoking his self-proclaimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence” to extort him into giving in to his demands for money.
Danny says he was forced to fire Bryan due to the threatening conduct, including starting a campaign of threats and intimidation, as well as coercion in the weeks before Dolly‘s death.
Per TMZ, one of the threats said, “Her money better be bigger than I can make elsewhere or I’m going to f*** everyone. I am about to become the hand of retribution for my entire family.”
Another threat read, “I’m going to set up a podcast dedicated to ruining Dolly’s brand partnership and telling the violations these people have done on us.”
The docs claim Bryan sent another message saying, “All I do is warfare … everyone needs to be worried about what I might do,” while he also claimed, “I’m not an entertainment person. I’m a killer” and “I’m going to ratf*** every entity I can possibly conjure,” in messages submitted with the restraining order request.
The lawsuit requests that Bryan does not interfere with Dolly‘s businesses and leave her business partners alone, as well as stay 1,000 feet away from the offices.
Speaking with TMZ, Bryan denies the claims in the suit, saying, “I am a career soldier and military contractor and do conduct arms deals for foreign governments. I am a security professional and I am a killer.”
“However, nothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by,” he added, saying the messages submitted were taken out of context to make it look like he was threatening people.
“I was talking frankly in a private way with Danny who I thought was my friend and he fancies himself a gangster,” he shared with the site. “A lot of these messages are two guys having rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving.”
Responding to the “I’m going to ratf*** every entity I can possibly conjure,” Bryan said he was “talking about people that have done bad to Dolly in business – a specific company that scared her and intimated her. Those comments were about specific, horrible business partners that have done wrong to her and I stand by that.”
According to Variety, the restraining order says Bryan‘s alleged threats “have already produced the harm they were designed to cause. Ms. Parton’s trusts and estates attorney withdrew after Mr. Seaver targeted her. SAL [She’s Alive, LLC] personnel have resigned; others no longer report to the office because they fear Mr. Seaver and his armed associates. SAL and its related vendors have been forced to retain private security for its personnel —including at their homes. Ordinary operations have given way to an atmosphere of fear.”
“SAL therefore seeks immediate, narrowly tailored relief pending a full hearing on a temporary injunction,” the statement in the request continues. “Every day without relief gives Mr. Seaver another opportunity to frighten away a trusted employee, counsel, licensee, brand partner, or other essential counterparty. The campaign is ongoing, its consequences are mounting, and SAL should not be required to wait for the next resignation— or the next threat — to obtain protection.”
