Daredevil is once again coming to an end.
On Monday (September 21), The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, will be ending with its upcoming third season.
The decision comes about two months after the Marvel Studios show finished filming season three.
Daredevil: Born Again is a continuation of the Netflix series that ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. Season one of Born Again premiered last year on Disney+ and season two was released earlier this year. Charlie Cox played Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, in both the Netflix series and Disney+ series.
The series followed Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, who is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
News that Daredevil: Born Again is ending with season three comes after Marvel quietly parted ways with showrunner Dario Scardapane, whose contract was up and was not renewed. Scardapane‘s exit comes as season three is still in post-production and it’s unclear while will see the show through completion. One source said post-production is in the final stages.
