Mindy Kaling is speaking out for the first time since news broke that her show Not Suitable For Work is not moving forward for another season.
What Did Mindy Kaling Say About Her Show Getting Cancelled?
The 47-year-old The Office alum shared a series of images from the set of the Hulu show to her Instagram on Tuesday (August 25).
“I love this show, I loved making this show, I love these people, and I love all of you for all your sweet comments, messages, edits and for watching @notsuitableforwork,” she wrote.
What was the show about?
The show premiered on Hulu back in June and featured Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay and Jay Ellis as series regulars. Mindy created the show and served as an executive producer.
Critics were mixed on the show, with it earning a 54% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show fared better with audiences though and currently has an 82% audience score on the website.
Here’s the synopsis: “Five work-obsessed 20-somethings are striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill.”
Will it get picked up elsewhere?
There’s still a chance the show will find a home elsewhere, according to a new report.
Variety reports that “Warner Bros. TV, which produces the series, plans to shop it to potential new homes.”
Hulu has canceled two other shows in 2026 so far.
