One line in “Lost Weekend” has fans talking about her ex Paul Mescal
According to a review in The Guardian, Phoebe included a lyric in her song “Lost Weekend” that appears to confirm a theory that she and her ex, Paul Mescal were engaged.
The line is, “I’m supposed to be married, but I called it off.”
Phoebe and Paul first sparked dating rumors in August 2020 and they made their relationship public in late 2021. They were rumored to have gotten engaged, but they never confirmed these theories. Reports emerged in 2022 that they might’ve split.

According to The Guardian, there’s a line in “The Governor’s Waltz” that has Phoebe singing, “she can pretend to be me / Since she took my place in my bed, on that stage.”
The two singers have frequently been linked by fans, especially after Gracie performed with a bedroom set featuring a bed and bedding that supposedly matched Phoebe‘s childhood room.
