Jamie Campbell Bower is moving from the Upside Down to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien as he joined the third season of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power series.
According to a new Empire exclusive, the 37-year-old actor is playing the Elf lord and warrior known as Celeborn, he’s also the husband of Morfydd Clark‘s character Galadriel. Jamie describes Celebron as a “lover-boy,” someone much different than the villainous Vecna he played on Stranger Things.

Jamie also attended the 2026 Comic Con in San Diego at Hilton Bayfront on Friday (July 24) in San Diego, Calif. to promote the new show.
According to Jamie, the dynamic between Celeborn and Galadriel on the show is partially inspired by Tolkien and his wife, Edith.
“This idea of longing and yearning is so pervasive in Tolkien’s relationship with Edith for the time that they were apart,” he told Empire. “I really feasted on that idea. Celeborn has had to find a way to survive whilst longing for something that he so dearly loved and so dearly missed as well.”
