Sophie Nélisse has booked her next TV role!
On Thursday (July 16), it was announced that the 26-year-old French-Canadian actress will be starring in the upcoming series adaption of Carley Fortune‘s 2024 romance novel This Summer Will Be Different at Netflix.
Here’s the logline: “This Summer Will Be Different, based on the beloved novel by Carley Fortune, is a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for.”
Sophie will be leading the series as Lucy.
Created by Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart, This Summer Will Be Different will consist of 10 episodes and will be filmed in Toronto, Canada. As of right now, no other casting has been announced.
Sophie is known for her breakout role as Young Shauna in Yellowjackets. She also starred as fan-favorite Rose Landry in Heated Rivalry. Last month, Sophie won the award for Best Supporting Performer, Drama for her role in Heated Rivalry at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards!
