Ice Cube and Nia Long are reuniting for a new Are We There Yet? movie!
According to Deadline, the actors will reprise their roles as Nick and Suzanne for the third film in the franchise, marking the first in 20 years after their previous movies Are We There Yet? (2005) and Are We Done Yet? (2007).
For the third go-round, Nick is facing “his biggest challenge yet” when he becomes a grandparent.
“We built something special with this franchise. Audiences grew up with Nick Persons, and now Nick’s got grandkids. Time flies. Partnering with Skydance to bring this story to a new generation is exactly the kind of move CubeVision was built for, and I am excited for the new partnership,” Ice Cube said in a statement.
The new movie will be written by Chris Hazzard and Mike Fontana.
The 2005 film that launched the franchise followed Nick adjusting his life for Suzanne by agreeing to drive her kids Lindsey and Kevin to their grandmother’s house in his prized Lincoln Navigator. In the sequel, the family relocates to the suburbs, where Nick goes head-to-head with their contractor, played by John C. McGinley.
In case you missed it, earlier this year it was announced that Ice Cube would also be returning to the Ride Along franchise alongside Kevin Hart.
