The series finale of Hacks has arrived and the cast stepped out together ahead of the episode airing.
Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, and more attend a “For Your Consideration” event for season five on Tuesday night (May 26) at the David Geffen Theater at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
Also in attendance were co-stars Robby Hoffman, Paul W. Downs, and Kaitlin Olson, as well as Paul‘s co-creators Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky.
During the event, Hannah broke down in tears and then jokingly fell to the floor while Jean talked about the finale.
Jean opened up about the Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand duet “Happy Days Are Here Again / Get Happy” being used in the finale.
“I was so excited because it’s such an incredible piece of music. And it was perfect that it was not just that song, but that it was a duet. And it was a duet,” Jean said.
At this point, Hannah started breaking down into tears.
Paul explained, “She’ll be okay. This happened a lot. Every day on the final season. This happened a lot. Ignore the woman on the floor!”
EW reports that Jean joked after the crying, “How brilliant was she in that scene just now?”
The Hacks season finale will be added to HBO Max on Thursday, May 28 at 9pm ET.
