Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames fell in love while working together on the movie Regretting You and they later worked together on another movie, which just got a new update.
The real-life couple teamed up for the film New Year’s Rev, which was later changed to be titled Nimrods.
Nimrods is a coming-of-age film centering on three high school friends who set out on a wild road trip under the mistaken assumption that their fledgling band has been booked to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. Also starring in the film are Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Sean Gunn, Bobby Lee and Fred Armisen. The movie was written and directed by Lee Kirk.
The movie is based on Green Day‘s real-life adventures while living in a van before the success of their debut album. Band members Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt appear and perform in the film.
What’s the latest update on Nimrods?
After premiering at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Nimrods is going to be distributed in the U.S. by Inaugural Entertainment.
Palisades Park Pictures also just announced that international sales while happen this month ahead of the Cannes Film Festival.
